I purchased natural quarts countertops for my kitchen last summer from Fred Varney. I wanted a rustic natural look for my 100 year old summer cabin. I actually was encouraged to visit the stone yard, pick out the slab I wanted, and where I wanted the sink cut out of the slab. They were very friendly and professional, and paid attention to all the details. I highly recommend them!
We couldn't be happier with our new kitchen. Dianne Willand came and measured our kitchen, drew up 3 plans and way we went. We looked at the cupboards then picked what we wanted out! She is a true professional ! I have never had a new kitchen so didn't know what I really wanted! She had the vision, I have vertical cubbards, draws, pantry. It's all amazing! We go back there if we do anymore remodeling.Tom Willand installed them and did an amazing job!. They came in on time and was done when the said. So in love
Our kitchen remodel started with my sketch of what I wanted and a short list of "must-haves". We had a few tricky elements in the building structure that needed to be respected, and we knew in advance that we would require several interruptions in the project. On top of that, I am a very involved client who must be involved in all the details. Carolyn Brown understood the challenges, took my sketch, accepted the schedule and produced a great final design. She diligently worked with me to finalize the design and numerous options. She has worked on enough remodels to have learned many things that work and do not work; that is a valuable asset. She told me several times that she and Fred E. Varney Company wanted us to be happy with the final result. She wanted us to love our new kitchen. Mission accomplished; we are very happy. The kitchen is beautiful. I've had enough experience with remodels to know that not every project goes absolutely according to plan. There are always a few surprises along the way, but there are also plenty of solutions. If you keep that in mind, you will be happy working with Fred E. Varney Company.
The company had a person assigned to our project who was very helpful and knowledgable. She came to the condo, was good about back and forth with designs and options via her laptop. My wife & I were blown away at some of the ideas ad creativity this company can bring to life with just an idea! The carpenter was wonderful to work with & had a great personality! Would high recommend to friends & family.
We had a wonderful experience with the Fred E. Varney Company, where we did a gut renovation of the kitchen in our Wolfeboro vacation condo in 2010. Carolyn Brown, though relatively new to the business at the time, was a pleasure to work with and able to accommodate all our needs, including a custom bar with a specially treated cherry wood top that juts into and meshes with the living room.
One of the great things about Varney is that they work as a team, i.e., other designers are happy to chime in with "second opinions" if asked; for example, they gathered around to help us decide which among the many flooring samples we brought in would look best with the Cabico wood cabinets we'd chosen with Carolyn's help. And Carolyn never tried to push us into more expensive options than we wanted.
Our kitchen is beautiful, functional, and the envy of our neighbors.
Working with Diane through the kitchen remodel process was a great experience. She is highly skilled in design and very professional. She is also very knowledgeable about the products they sell at Fred E Varney Company. Diane took care to listen to my vision and followed through with a thoughtful design and careful planning. Taking my vision, she incorporated design elements I would not have thought would work in my log cabin but I absolutely love! The cabinets we chose were Knotty Alder with a natural finish, the counter-top was Cambria Canterbury Quartz and stainless steel appliances. Diane suggested a black island for contrast and it would appear as a free-standing piece of furniture. To add to its character, it would be lightly distressed. She also incorporated a window sill and back-splash, made of the same quartz as the counter-top, behind the sink creating the perfect framing of the farmers sink and window. Additionally, another design detail was a couple windowed cabinets using seeded glass which worked beautifully thanks to her suggestion. Lastly, aside from the cosmetics, the choices of cabinet types and features along with their locations have left me with a highly functional kitchen. Diane drew up design plans which enabled me to envision how those design ideas would appear. Once the plans were agreed upon and the remodel team chosen, Diane kept in close communication to keep me abreast of the schedule and order of work. Diane and her Team were very professional and meticulous in their skill, making suggestions and fine tuning the details which makes them exceptional!! Overall, I can honestly say they have made me a very satisfied customer and I wouldn't hesitate to hire them in the future. Rachel
Carolyn Brown of the Fred E. Varney Co. Wolfeboro NH completed a renovation of our kitchen, dining room, first floor hallway and powder room in the spring of 2015. Carolyn was enthusiastic, thoughtful and committed to our project. The update required accommodation for the use of a power wheelchair. Carolyn was very attentive to ADA specifications and designed a kitchen that meets all our requirements and our desire for a modern, highly functional area where we can entertain family and friends. Her layout works very well and the ADA accommodations don't stand out. Her design was by far the most innovative and interesting and did more to enhance the space than we saw from other designers. She was particularly creative in finding a way to integrate existing ceiling beams into the kitchen update and her kitchen design blends perfectly with the adjacent open dining room space featuring a large fireplace. She is very experienced and knowledgeable of the local craftsmen and led us to the many talented professionals who worked on the project. She coordinated the entire project and managed the painters, carpenters, electricians and plumbers to great effect resulting in a project that was completed on-time, on budget and problem free. This was particularly impressive given that the work was done during a 3 or 4 month period when we were largely not on site. The willingness to communicate by text, phone, email and the occasional face to face meeting was very welcome. Carolyn has a great eye for color coordination and the flow moving from one space to another is fantastic and provides a very warm and welcoming environment. Family and friends who have seen the new space and remember the "before" have been very complimentary. We have more renovations to consider in the future and there is no doubt we will come back to Carolyn and Fred E. Varney Co when the time is right.
We had Varney's provide a design and execution for a re-do of our bathroom sink, cabinets, and mirror. The goal was to provide more storage space in a modest-sized bathroom. The planning process was thorough and respected our requirements regarding space, quality and cost. The final product was beautiful and months later we still love it!
The company had a person assigned to our project who was very helpful and knowledgable. She came to the house, was good about back and forth with designs and options. The carpenter was wonderful to work with. The job was done in a timely manner and we are very happy with the results.
This company is the bomb...from conceptual design, budgeting, approval drawings, coordination with the installer, and shipping accuracy, Fred Varney did a great job. Carolyn held our hands the entire way and ensured the project went smooth...We used them on two projects and have a 3rd one planned...
